Using the hive tool to pry apart frames

I used this more for a photo op than actual movement, but this is what you do to separate frames from each other if they are stuck together with propolis. Also note on this picture we have dated and numbered all of our frames. This allows us to keep the frames in the right order, as well as figure out whether we should replace frames. Frames should be replaced every 3 years, because overuse will degrade the frames and the prevalence of disease in older frames make the hive more vulnerable.
